Announcement of the EU fellowships for Georgian researchers

The regional office of German Academic Exchange Service DAAD Georgia announces the call for proposals in the frame of “Support to Georgia’s Researchers’ Mobility” programme funded by the EU.

The aim of the programme is to promote internationalization of Georgia’s Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) sector to:

  • advance Georgian researchers’ networking
  • contribute to the establishment of professional links with the respective counterparts from the EU,
  • increase the mobility of Georgian researchers and promote their integration into the European Research Area,
  • possible integration and involvement in project proposals` development for further submission to Horizon Europe or any other EU R&I funding programme

Proposals will be accepted from all scientific fields.

The study visit may take place in any of EU member state country between January - December 2023 and Georgian citizens can apply for the funding if they have a Ph.D. degree or 3 years of full-time research experience.

Mobility fellowship’s duration is 3 months and is financed with 15 000 Euro (5 000 Euro per month).

The application should be submitted in English and the application package includes the following documents:

  • Online application form,
  • Applicant’s CV;
  • List of publications,
  • Consolidated synopsis of the project with an abstract, 
  • Project proposal,
  • Project work-plan,
  • Letter of confirmation by the EU host institution, 
  • Copy of PhD diploma/Reference from the employee,
  • A Letter of Support from the home organization,
  • Any other supporting documents.

Deadline for the submission of application is: 26 September 2022

The evaluation of the proposal and selection of the candidates will be done in a two-stage procedure:

  • assessment of the application by external experts selected from EREA’s database (European Research Executive Agency),
  • Selection Panel interview with an applicant.

The interview will be held in English

Special Note: in case of applicant’s insufficient knowledge of English (if the working language of the study visit is other than English) she/he is welcome to bring an interpreter for the selection interview at her/his own expense.
